Wooden garages are a brilliant addition to your home as they can have many functions; home offices, workshops, general storage and vehicle storage.
Beginning with utility buildings in 1965 and subsequently expanding into our current full range of timber buildings, Jon William Stables has many years of experience in designing and building quality wooden garages and garage workshops.
Constructed using the same quality of timber and techniques as timber-framed houses, our wooden garages and workshops are all built to a very high standard in line with all our timber buildings.
Bespoke timber buildings
You can select from one of our beautiful tried and tested design ranges or if you prefer we can work with you to create a bespoke garage, double wooden garage, workshop or timber building design unique to you and built to your individual requirements.
Examples of our bespoke timber buildings include machinery stores, carports, carriage houses, double wooden garages, home offices, playrooms and swimming pool rooms – each design has been individually created and crafted.

Do you build Oak Garages?
Yes, we can build with oak. There are a few types of wood that we prefer to build with, depending on clients’ requirements. This is determined in the planning stage.
What types of doors are offered with your garages?
We offer three options of doors to install in your brand new garage:
- Roller Shutter Doors, complete with remote controls
- Side Hung Doors
- Up and over doors
If you require a single entry, we can install a personnel door.Do you install windows with your garages?
Windows can be considered when designing your garage. All windows we install will be uPVC double-glazed, so you do not need to worry about rot or rust. Aluminium can be used in some cases and come in whatever colour you want.
What type of roof covering should my garage have?
You can choose which type of roof to have – we will walk you through the options. One of our most popular alternatives to a tile roof is felt shingles – they are the best for aesthetically pleasing and cost a lot less than tiles!
Do I need planning permission to build a garage?
In some cases, you may. We can guide you, if you do need planning permission, our team can handle it for you.
Does Jon William Stables construct the building?
Yes! Our team has been building wooden garages since 1965.
Can your team do the groundwork?
